3M Hot Melt Adhesive Applicator AE II is a compact, self-contained applicator. It features an industrial grade 250-watt PTC (positive temperature coefficient) system that ensures a consistent 400°F/204°C for application. It is a high volume, high productivity industrial tool.

3M™ Hot Melt Packaging Adhesive AE is formulated to bond and seal quickly to meet the demands of packing and assembly. When heated to 2500F/ 1270C, this adhesive achieves a low viscosity/ high-flow rate and an aggressive hot tack that bonds to handling strength in seconds to help maintain high-tempo productivity in fast-paced environments. Together these two properties increase the speed of carton closures and provide adhesion to wood, paperboard, corrugated and other fibrous substrates. It provides strong shear strength and low peel strength, which means packages stay sealed under most conditions but won’t fight the recipient when the time comes to open. The 12″ stick will produce up to 30 linear feet of 1/8″ bead. Its 30 second open time, along a 1/8″ bead, is sufficient for positioning and adjusting for fit and supports high-tempo productivity for packaging applications. It is composed of 100% solids, thermoplastic resin for use with 3M™ Scotch-Weld™ Hot Melt Applicator AE. As a low-volatile-organic (VOC) compound, this adhesive produces minimal odor when heated and helps support a comfortable work environment.
